The architectural propsal for the hotel renewal results from the analyses of the given program and a synthesis of the perception of the hotel and its relation with the immediate urban environment, regarding questions of urban image and commercial visual impact.
The building find itself in a volumetric context relatively low. The 12 floors height building allows the hotel to be seen from a certain distant, whixh gives all the potential for an urban icon and urban reference..
The architectural proposal pretends to change the courant image exploring its volumetric potential together with its urban implantation. Following, the interior spaces should be a renewal based on “light” and “well-fare” concepts.
A renewal exterior image which seen from a distant point of view, in one hand is completely integrated in the context, and on the other can give a new architectrural design. It have to be such as a unique architectural object and an urban signal, accepting and respecting its environnement and exceptionnalthrough its simplicity of forms.
A light system concept integrated in the new facades unifies the custom experience from the scale of the city into the scale of its designated room, passing through the entrance, lounge and annexe areas. Exterior and interior shoud compose only one project and not result from the addition of different and disperse ideas. The exterior new skin can be “folded” into the entrance areas bringing with it daylight.
The new skin can be treated at night time with different light colours, ansewering to the exceptionnal events such as conferences, working meetings, etc..
