Operation 35/39 rue Frémicourt, 15ème, Paris, France
The idea driving this project is the challenge of responding to a demanding program, with the composition of a new whole, through a process of sustainable development, thanks to the favorable orientation facades.
Fremicourt street context offers contemporary buildings on each side of the parcel. Their facades deal with volumes and horizontal lines
With our project we wanted to integrate a different reading, with a set of random boxes (air bag), which protect from the sun in summer, and allow energy intake, by the setting up solar panels.
The distribution of these ‘boxes’ on the façade is disposed through a random composition of the surface and thickness of the boxes, which have two different sizes.
Each box is a support for photovoltaic cells panels, which may produce a portion of electricity needs.
The north façade opens onto the garden. We chose to have a very smooth façade, which remember promptly the south front.
